Real estate market in the start of 2017

It is the very start of 2017 year and the main tendencies of 2016 remained after New Year holidays. Indeed there was no stagnation on elite real estate market. There were quite a lot of potential tenants. Most of the customers searching for elite real estate have been European, Latin American and Asian embassies employees.

Top rental requests - 2017

Traditionally, the apartments with following characteristics are of the greatest demand:

  1. Middle class buildings in Moscow central area;
  2. 2-3 bedroom apartments;
  3. Approximate budget 2500-3500 USD.

As for the start of 2017 there are very few customers requiring A-list accommodation located in exclusive residential compounds with 4 and more bedrooms while 2-3 bedrooms with standard western renovation in middle class buildings are very popular among potential clients.

Consequently landlords accustomed to long time exposition of their residential premises preferred to wait for clients with pre-crises budgets (i.e. 180.000-250.000 RUB/ 2500-3500 USD) and provided maximum discount not exceeding 5-10% from the asking price.

As usual landlords having Russian accounts prefer to receive rent in Rubles, the others having foreign accounts – in US dollars or Euro.
